Sigma Brushes and Eyeshadow Review

Let me start by saying that i received this free to review a couple of days ago, and I am delighted to have the chance to do so, as iv heard so much about Sigma brushes, i had to see it for myself, and share with you.

My views will not be affected by the fact that i received these items free of charge, and i want to reassure you that this review well be honest and true to my opinion.

To find out what i think about the sigma brushes and makeup, keep on reading :)

Sigma Make-up

Without Flash With Flash

The packaging is very reminiscent of the Bobby Brown pallets, (as you can see from the first picture). The idea is that, you can pop your shadows into the quad compact and carry the look in your purse. The shadows are labeled underneath and once clicked into the pallet, the name is clearly visible underneath (so no DIY label jobs)

The texture of these eye shadows are extremely soft, almost like butter (except it doesn't melt, particularly the black). The shadows are very shimmery and some glitter running through them, not at all chunky. Very pretty sparkles rather!

Therefore, there is a lot of fallout, so be sure to do the eye before the rest of your face ladies. These shadows blend really well, and the colour payoff is great, i particularly like you got the silver and paint it black. In fact this may be my new fave black eyeshadow, i have noticed a slight green iridescence to the colour.

Here is a look i created using Sigma shadows, surprisingly easy to blend and the colours i found lasted pretty well without any base, shame about the creasing - i blame my greasy lids :P

I actually quite prefer this look, bold and sharp!

Sigma Brushes - Professional Brushes - Eyes

Moving on to the Sigma brushes, I have heard many good things about these brushes, and how they are perfect dupes for the MAC brushes. So after testing and comparing, here are my thoughts on the brushes.

L-R: ss224, ss252, ss274, ss239 ss219 ss266, ss209

Where it has been possible, i compared the sigma brushes with a mac brush however, there is a couple of the mac versions i don't own.

ss219
A natural bristled pencil brush, ideal for detailing; applying colour in the crease, inner and outer corner and upper and lower lash line. I absolutely love this brush and definitely purchasing another one for my kit.

ss266
Is a synthetic bristled brush; perfect for lining the eyes with a gel or cake liner and equally great for filling in the eye brows. Although, i don't own the mac equivalent, my eye liner brush from Avon is a pretty close match, only a tiny bit smaller, and i love that brush! So this ill be chucking straight into my kit.

ss209
L-R: ss209, mac 209 SE

This brush is an extra fine synthetic fibre brush ideal for lining the lash line. In comparison to the mac 209 SE, i prefer the sigma ss209 as it tapers up to a perfect point. I love my eyeliner brush to be be precise. A big thumbs up!

ss252

L-R: ss252, mac 252 SE

A natural fibred brush ideal for applying highlight or a wash of colour all over the lid. The ss252 is slightly narrower, and thinner at the top as it is really nicely tapered at the top. I prefer this one over the mac SE one as i feel it is a little scratchy on the eye.

ss239

L-R: ss239, mac 239 SE

This natural fibred brush is the most different in terms of the way it looks, the ss239 is slightly wider and shorter that the mac version, and tapered into more of a C-shape. The mac 239 SE is a little more densely packed. They both perform the same job, regardless of the difference in the way they look.

ss274

L-R: ss274, mac 274 SE

An angled eyeshadow brush made up of natural bristles, ideal for distributing colour and blending, perfect if you know how to apply colour in the crease with a gradual blend. The both look practically the same, and perform equally well. But of course; the ss274 doesn't break the bank.

ss224

L-R: mac 224, ss224

As a dupe for the mac 224, you would have thought, it can be used just like the mac 224, you can - if you have GIANT eyes!

Those of you who own a mac 224 well understand that although it is a lovely brush, for some of us its just that tad bit too big. Now look at the ss224 - wayyy tooo biggg!

Out of both of these i actually prefer to use my mac 226, a much smaller version of these two, in my opinion PERFECT!

Therefore; as a eyeshadow blending brush the ss224 is pants! however, i do LOVE it for applying concealer and powder under the eyes; it does a FAB job!

As a whole, id would definitely recommend these sigma brushes and makeup to anyone who would like to invest in some good quality brushes without breaking the bank. If i didn't have so many brushes i would seriously consider buying the face brushes too. (who knows - maybe i well) LOL
